Science awards
Garland - John L. Miller, a fifth-grade teacher at Southgate Elementary, and Linda Berryhill, a fifth-grade teacher at Centerville Elementary, were among 43 North Texas science teachers recently honored.
The award were announced during the 1998 Spring Texas Regional Colllaboratives for Excellence in Science Teaching last month in Dallas.

 Mr. Miller has taught for 27 years and Mrs. Berryhill for 10.
Both educators in the Garland Independent School District received proclamations from the Texas Senate and a certificate of achievement in honor of their dedication to lifelong learning and commitment to the teaching profession.
