Directory of Collaboratives

Mission

Region 18 ESC Math Collaborative serves as a first-choice partner in meeting the educational needs of all students in mathematics, through high-quality sustained professional development and support of mathematics teachers throughout the region.

Accomplishments

In 2007-2008 our Math Collaborative provided professional development training to approximately 240 teachers, comprising over 4200 contact hours. Our relationships with higher education institutions in the area expanded, and we anticipate offering graduate-level courses as part of professional development program for our 2008--2009 Mathematics Teacher Mentors.

Our most ambitious undertaking is a project linking four universities and three ESCs in the creation and dissemination of mathematics content training targeted at middle school teachers. The Collaborative has been essential in forging the relationships necessary to make this happen. We anticipate news of funding by September 2008--watch this site for more news!
