The goals of the Central Texas Regional Collaborative for Excellence in Science Teaching are to provide high-quality, sustained, TEKS based professional development to science teacher mentors and to build the leadership skills of those teachers as they return to their campus/district and provide professional development to their peers. This model enables more students to benefit from workshops provided by the CTRC.
The Central Texas Regional Collaborative prides itself in working with teachers from across the region in grades K-12. Our focus for 2007-2008 was Earth Science for grades K-8 and Physics for high school teachers. With over 50 Science Teacher Mentors and over 200 Cadre Members the content and pedagogy knowledge gained through our professional development affects the classrooms of thousands of children in Region XIII.
